The staff plugin is for the administrative portal only, it does not apply to your website. This plugin gives you the ability to add additional staff/employees members and grant them access to your administrative portal.
This plugin comes with an accounts manager similar to the one found in members plugin but specific for administrative accounts. Some of the staff account information that can be managed include personal information and contacts amongst others. There are three main areas to focus including website access, departments and route permissions.
With the staff plugin, you can assign an account with client privileges. Client privileges means the account will not only have access to your administrative portal but also gain login access to you website using the same credentials. This may be important to understand user experience and/or troubleshoot issues.
Departments are groupings of your organization and usually consist of a department head. Messages can be sent to individuals or a department. Using this plugin you can create departments and choose who the department head is. A department head will receive any messages send to the department. This account can also be marked as "in the loop" and would also receive messages between staff members within their department.
Roles are a key feature of your fliddo website and provides a way to control and restrict content. This plugin supports roles and allows them to be assigned to staff accounts. Roles assigned to staff members are administrative and not intended for your website. Roles can also be assigned to routes which determine who has permission to access a specific route.
Routes are URLs endpoints specific to your administrative portal and may have plugins which further extend those endpoints. For example, installing the Blog plugin add /blog endpoints to your administrative portal.
Having defined your staff accounts, not all areas should be accessible by all staff members. The staff plugin allows permissions to be set to endpoints based on roles. Search for the routes or plugin routes and assign them a role. To restrict a staff account to a specific route requires that the account and route share the same role.
